In year and Foundation Year Admissions
Thank you for your interest in our school. If you are interested in your child becoming a pupil at Pinhoe, please refer to our Admissions policy in the first instance.
For prospective enquiries, school tours or a conversation with our Headteacher, please contact the school office and ask to speak to Angela Blagdon, Senior Administrator on 01392 467984.
Subject to available places, the school can accommodate in year admissions in some year groups at present. Formal application should be made through the Devon County Council Admissions Team on 0345 155 1019.
Nursery Admissions
Although our nursery is a governor led setting and part of our school community, a place at the nursery does not automatically mean a place is secured at the school.
Please contact our Senior Administrator, Ms Angela Blagdon, for further information about a place at the nursery.
All parents/carers with a child attending the nursery, should apply for a school place at the correct time, following the School Place Application Guidance for the Local Education Authority.

Detailed information about the appeals process, including the Online Admissions Appeal Form, can be found at
https://www.devon.gov.uk/educationandfamilies/school-information/apply-for-a-school-place/school-appeals
- You have the right to an admissions appeal that is independent of the school if your application for admission is refused. This is for any refusal except where a child has been permanently excluded from school twice (the most recent having been within the last 2 years). Appeals are scheduled within statutory timescales, up to 40 school days after the LA deadline for submitting appeals: 31 May 2024. Where they are submitted later, they are heard within 30 school days of being submitted. .
- Your child’s name will automatically be added to our waiting list and will stay on there until the end of the academic year. You can reapply then if you want to remain on a waiting list.
- If your application was for in-year admissions – that’s at any time after the start of the Reception year – then the Local Authority will consider whether your child is eligible for consideration under its Fair Access Protocol. In certain circumstances, this may mean the LA will allocate a place in a school even when it would otherwise be full. You can speak to the LA Admissions Team about this; normally this would only be for a child who doesn’t already have access to education and where there is no reasonable alternative. This Protocol does not apply for the normal round of admissions to the start of the Reception year.
