Geography

Welcome to our Geography Page!

At Pinhoe, we understand that we are facilitating the development of global citizens and hold a responsibility to equip our pupils with the knowledge and skills required to live in an ever-changing environment.  Our geography curriculum has been carefully designed to help children develop an understanding of both physical and human geography with each year building on prior knowledge. Our topics are based around an enquiry approach which children will investigate using a variety of mediums including field work where appropriate.

In addition to in-class lessons, we offer a range of extra-curricular trips and activities which allow children to further develop their passion and understanding. Some of these include:

- A National Trust Membership which allows for visits to local sites for Orienteering and Field Work,

- Exploring the Rainforest Biome at Eden Project,

- Investigating coastal defences at Dawlish Warren,

- Field Work and Map making of our local area and school grounds.
